There cannot be a chocolate book by a French pastry chef without a recipe for chocolate macarons! The dessert is the Minis Macarons Glaces (mini macarons with ice cream). Wow, i don''t know laduree but it looks amazing! Sometimes the macarons are made larger and filled with fruits as well as buttercreams then served a dessert or at afternoon tea. Half a dozen macarons, the sweet recipes book and two boxes of loose tea. It's not really a beauty, especially compared to the colorful little jewels, those macarons and pastries, that first come to mind when one says LaDuree. They were pretty darn perfect, crispy and light, just like I think they should be. The macaron is the most Parisian of all cookies, found most famously at the shops Ladurée, Fauchon, or Pierre Hermé. Whilst popular back in the 18th & 19th centuries, it was only in recent times when famous French pastry chef Pierre Hermé revitalised the macaron offerings of renowned macaron house of Ladurée that their popularity took off. (I'll email you the recipe.) Now, I have macaron recipes from that book, Pierre Herme and LaDuree's (just got the LaDuree book in French).so I'm thinking about doing a recipe smackdown. Over the weekend, I decided to try the Madeleine recipe from the book Laduree: The Sweet Recipes. A must-have with scrumptious recipes from the world-famous Ladurée tea shop.
